Far from the cold remote atmospheres present in many interiors showrooms, Oasis have chosen to combine those key elements of style, culture, tradition and elegance. From October 2016, Oasis have selected the historical Libreria Bocca in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the so-called “drawing room” of Milan, as the perfect location to display items from their collections, resulting in a coming together of two areas of Italian supremacy: culture and style.
The decision and desire of Oasis, a long-established company specialising in high-end furniture and furnishings, was to set up home in the heart of Milan with a like-minded ‘entity’ that mirrored its elegant mid-European character. The Libreria Bocca, in existence from 1775 and a historical Italian landmark, co-founder of the Cultural Association for Italian historical and antique bookshops and elected by the FAI as a place of the heart was revealed as the ideal location for Oasis’ Milanese debut.
The principal aim of the company was to locate the best environment in which to showcase to the general public their perhaps less conventional furniture items. And, above all, to display them in a somewhat untypical manner: what better setting then, for book-cases and reading chairs, than a historical bookstore in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele in Milan
Beauty is born of beauty and such is the case with elegance. Alongside the books and Oasis furnishings, the flooring too displays an exceptionally refined artisanal quality thanks to the incredible creations of Carlo Apollo of API – Antichi Pavimenti Italiani. Specialist woods with gold inlays provide the ideal backdrop for an Oasis living environment, a real ambience for real people.
Chairs and armchairs in velvet from the Home Collection, a full height bookcase, a sculptural console and work-of-art lights from the Lighting Collection: all furnishing elements which make up a setting where culture and tradition breathe and flourish, a perfect framework within which to showcase the timeless interior design style synonymous with Oasis.
In this way, the showroom will offer the opportunity to experience at first hand a selection of Oasis products and to take in and enjoy the warm welcoming atmosphere reminiscent of a real residence. It goes without saying that the Oasis showroom will act as an exhibition space but also – and principally – as a place in which various initiatives will take place in a bid to involve the architect and interior design communities so that they can discover for themselves the world of Oasis style.
